This talented actress is Madam Grace Owoola Oyin-Adejobi, professionally referred to as ‘Iya Osogbo,’ she is a famous thespian, film producer, and television personality.
Iya Osogbo was born in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun state, on August 23, 1930, to a contractor father and a merchant mother.
As young woman, the talented thespian was married to the late Chief Oyin Adejobi, a famous Yoruba actor.
Iya Osogbo’s nickname came from the title of a blockbuster movie in 1999, in which she played the character of “Eran Iya Osogbo.”
She ventured into into acting profession about 67 years ago, noting that had already made her name before starring in the film “Eran Iya Osogbo,” therefore correcting the impression that she made her name from the popular film.
She had featured in different movies with the likes of Orogun Adedigba, Kuye, Kootu Ashipa just to mention a few. She is also a recipient of national and international awards.

The nonagenarian is the widow of the late Yoruba actor Oyin Adejobi who passed away in 2000.
While on a radio program on Space 90.1FM, Parrot Xtra Hour, anchored by Olayinka Agboola in Ibadan, Oyo State, Iya Osogbo disclosed that she began acting about 67 years ago.
She furthered before then she had already attain the nickname, ‘Iya Osogbo’
Madam Grace reminisced the day an overjoyed fan almost run her car over her in Ibadan, describing the experience as memorable.
The excited fan later came down from her car and told that she only wanted to exchange greetings with her as she gave her a sum ten thousand naira to appreciate her.
The nonagenarian condemned the near-nudity in the current Nollywood, advising actresses not be carried away by the pleasures of the world.
She noted that she met her late husband Oyin Adejobi when she was very young. According to her, they both attended the same school and lived on the same street.
She lamented that the death of her fourth child – a female was another low point in her life after the demise of her husband.
