Oyo State Police Command on Friday stated that three persons have lost their lives in a fight that erupted between supporters of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress(APC) on Thursday in Ibadan.
According to the command, the fight occurred at Ile-Tuntun area in Ibadan South East Local Government.
Oyo Police spokesman, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed that Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CID) has commenced investigation into the incident.
According to him, investigation was ongoing and people will be updated soon.
He said: “Oyo state is the cradle of sophistication and the world is watching, we should not continue to live in a trajectory of known for hooliganism.
“Election will come and go but people will be there. Parents and guardians should prevail on their wards against being used to scuttle the electoral process because heavy sanction will be melted on them.”
