Traffic redirected as Kwara govt closes Murtala Muhammed Way

Kwara State Government has declared the closure of Murtala Muhammed Way, Unity Flyover Lanes, beginning Saturday, October 19, 2024, to accelerate the completion of the Unity Bridge project.

Engineer Abdulquawiy Olododo, the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, shared this information in a statement from the Ministry’s Press Secretary, Olajide Abolarin.

The project is designed to improve road networks and boost economic growth in the state. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the closure.

Olododo assured residents that the closure was planned with safety as a priority and would ultimately enhance travel conditions.

Motorists coming from Ibrahim Taiwo Road are encouraged to use Post Office Road, while those coming from Offa Garage should take Police Road.

Additionally, drivers approaching from Wahab Folawiyo Unity Road should use Obbo Road to reach their destinations.

The Commissioner apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and thanked the public for their cooperation.

He urged motorists to follow traffic guidelines and exercise caution while navigating the area.
