TUC, NLC open talks with FG on fuel price hike

Leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, are currently in talks with federal government over fuel price increment.

Key government officials at the meeting include National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Labour Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and Information Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris.

Also in attendance are Heineken Lokpobiri and Ekperikpe Ekpo, Ministers of State for Petroleum, alongside representatives from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, NNPCL.

Earlier, the NLC condemned the spike fuel prices, calling for an immediate reversal and accusing the government of focusing solely on fuel price hikes.

In a statement, NLC President Joe Ajaero admonished the government to clarify its plans for the nation’s future.
