A graduate of University of Ilorin, Suleiman Rukayat Abidemi has emerged as winner of the maiden edition of Kwara Quiz Competition organized by International Media Training Center (IMTC).
The Grand Finale which produced the Lafiaji-born athlete as winner was held Saturday, November 19 at the Kwara State Art and Culture, Geri Alimi Ilorin, kwara state.
While the graduate of Human Kinetics garnered 35 points, Ajiboye Oluwatosin from Oke Ero Local Government scored 25 points and Ibrahim Quzeem Olamide from Ilorin East emerged 2nd runner up with 20 points.
In her speech, the Kwara State commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Mopelola Abdulmalik-Bashir, said the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is fostering a radical change in the state.
Mopelola, however, maintained that the state, under current administration is gradually expanding in knowledge, noting that “Kwara will no longer be known as a state where the children of nobody will remain nobody but instead, children of nobody will become somebody.”
She also appreciated the International Media Training Centre for designing such a programme that is aimed at widening the intellectual capabilities of the kwaran youth.
Rukayat, who went home with money prize of N100,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab was the only entry from Edu Local Government Area of the state.
