Al Kholood’s defender, William Troost-Ekong, said the country’s participation in the Unity Cup tournament would enable the team to prepare well for their remaining 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles will feature in the 2025 edition of the Unity Cup together with Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The team coach, Éric Chelle, will play two matches in the invitational tournament.

The Super Eagles will come up against eternal rivals Ghana in the semi-final.

They will play in the third-place match or final, depending on the outcome of the game against Ghana.

“This is a great tournament for us to reunite and continue strategizing for the upcoming World Cup qualifying games,” Troost-Ekong told thenff.com.
