We’re working on cholera outbreak prevention – KWSG to ASKOMP

Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Bola Olukoju, has hinted that the state government would inaugurate a steering committee on prevention of cholera outbreak.

Olukoju informed the leadership of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners, ASKOMP, led its Chairman and Publisher of the Informant247 Salihu Shola Taofeek during a press briefing on Monday.

She furthered that measures are in place to prevent cholera outbreaks.

The commissioner noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq invested heavily on infrastructures in order to give the state a facelift and make it a tourist destination.

The Commissioner stressed that infrastructural projects such as the International Conference Centre, remodelling of Kwara Hotel Sigar Film Factory, Garment Factory, and others would create more employment opportunities and drive the state economy.

She, therefore, pledged to work with the association, charging the members to continue to uphold the ethics of journalism.

In his remark, Salihu maintained that ASKOMP boasts 40 online newspapers, thus contributing to the economy of the state through tax payment and job creation.
