West Ham United Football Club has made a U-turn on Arsenal proposal for the team captain, Declan Rice.
Italian journalist, Romano Fabrizio made this revelation via official Twitter account on Wednesday, June 28.
The City Gazette recalls that Arsenal had on the same day submitted a bid of £100 million plus £5 million add-ons fee to the defensive midfielder with the West Ham turning down the offer.
But, the Hammers, in what seems to be a new twist contacted the North London club it was ready to accept the offer. Though, West Ham want the transfer fee be paid within 18 months.
Fabrizio said:
“West Ham have just communicated to Arsenal that they’re accepting £100m plus £5m add-ons fee for Declan Rice.
The two clubs remain in talks over deal structure & payment terms — as West Ham want £100m to be paid within 18 months.
Final discussions and then… done deal.”
Rice, in May, led West Ham United to win its first major trophy (Conference Cup) since 1965.
