The five aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), referred to as the G5, were in attendance at the inaugural campaign of Rivers State PDP on Saturday, November 19.
EVENTNG gathered that governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, (Abia) were seen in Port Harcourt, the oil booming state for the flag off of the party’s gubernatorial campaign this on Saturday.
The unveiling ceremony was performed by the G-5 governors at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
While in Port Harcourt, the state governor and leader of the G-5, Wike who is the host will treat his friends to a state banquet.
Meanwhile, the Director General (DG) of the PDP Campaign Council in Rivers State, Felix Obuah, has dispelled rumours that the governor is using the state resources to torment political opponents.
Obuah noted that the ruling party does not have opposition in the forthcoming general elections to have warranted the sponsoring political hooligans to attack opposing parties.
