Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, on Tuesday visited Malam-Fatori, a former Boko Haram ravaged community close to Lake Chad.

Zulum, during the assessment visit, engaged the Nigerian troops in charge of the town in an interaction.

Malam-Fatori is headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area (LGA) in northern Borno deserted by residents due continuous havocs of insurgents in 2014.

The City Gazette gathered the armed forces have succeeded in dislodging the insurgents who forced the villagers out of their settlement about 10 years ago.

Meanwhile, the governor hinted at returning the refugees who have been estranged from their homes some 2014 to the Malam-Fatori community.

The refugees are at present sheltered in neighboring Bosso, Tumur and Diffa, Republic of Niger.
