Former Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has explained the reason behind his decision to return to Galatasaray on a permanent basis.
The Turkey champions set a new league transfer record securing the 75 million Euro transfer fee of Osimhen from Napoli.
Osimhen arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday night and met with the yellow-red fans at Ataturk Airport.
The 26-year-old’s signing ceremony will take place at Rams Park before the Lazio match on Saturday.
In an interview with GSTV, Osimhen he did everything possible to ensure he eventually commit his future to Galatasaray after a short stint last season on loan at the Turkish Super Lig champions owing to bond he has established with the club, the city and the people.
“I have a deep connection with this club, this city, these people. That’s why I fought so hard to return here,” Osimhen said.
“I continue to have that feeling to continue playing with a purpose.
“I want to do what’s best for myself and the fans, and I’m really happy to be here,” he said.
